Wanted to buy a 6+6 in Portland once upon a time, but an old IS was about 11 grand cheaper.

The chrome door handles are horrendous but other wise I’m 100% on board.

It is a color!

I like ‘em. With the V6 and 6-speed they’re sleepers.

My brother had a ‘98 V6 coupe that I would’ve stolen if it was a manual. Fun little car.

Nah, my aunt has a 6+6 coupe, t hat thing is awesome. G ood power, pretty fun to drive, super comfy, decent fuel economy, basically the perfect DD.

Ever since I heard one with a ridiculous exhaust (it was glorious), I’ve had a weird fascination with manual FWD sedans/coupes. It’s tempting to trade/sell my Magnum and get a manual Accord to use for my 500+ miles a week (usually drive my v6 mustang). But so far I’ve leaned towards keeping the V8 wagon goodness.

Nah, I was actually looking at the new one. But HAM thinks their magical never-ever-breaks-ignore-statistics shit is gold plated and therefore should lease for more than a Mercedes-Benz.

No.

I owned it’s sibling for six years , 2001 Acura 3.2 CL Type S. Good looking car

The designer to afflicted so many Hondas and Acuras with those should be publicly flogged.

I really used to droll over those CL/TL Type Ses...

I test drove one a long time ago and was really underwhelmed. I’ve tried the V6 sedan and the V6 coupe (with manual). You’d be better off with a G37S.

Nope
The accord coupes are great cars and come from a time were coupes were cool. That time passed years ago but some how the Accord Coupe stayed relevant. In times were we saw the Solara, Altima, Monte Carlo, and S ebring die out. T he Accord coupe was able to transfer for the average 9 to 5 worker who needed a beater with a heater and wanted some sportiness to it. No they dont need a Camaro or Mustang but they wanted more refined than some Civic or Forte. I think one of the main reasons why the Accord coupe stayed around for so long was it deemed sporty by the auto community because of it manual option and the aura behind the J-series.
Remember when this was a big thing? The Accord Coupe Concept? When was the last time you saw someone come out with a FWD Coupe Concept? True it was basically production but Honda wanted to show it off and it was well received. We knew it wouldn’t be that nice but it would be close and it had the one thing we cared about a manual V6. B ecause in 5-10 years we jalops will be looking for quick manual car. And when asked the Accord coupe will be on n umerous car list on OPPO and Jalop where someone wants a sporty 2dr
Which circles back to my main point, these are good, affordable, and reliable transportation that with the right options can be sporty/ sleepers.

•shrug• I’ve never understood the appeal. It’s too heavy to be sporty, the rear seat occupants get too much sun exposure from the rear glass setup, the wrong wheels are driven for the power it makes (with the V6), and the generation pictured has some very strange and irritating ergonomic selections. Some of the engines and transmissions have had issues, too.
Would rather get a V6 Mustang, despite the worse interior quality.

no, I love it.

To be fair the chrome handles look better on the coupe than the sedan. Primarily because there is two less chrome handles.

I’ve always liked it, definitely a handsome car.

I nearly bought a white LX-S just like that. The damn dealer couldn’t get me the manual they said they could so I walked across the street to the Mazda lot... The one thing with that gen is that they are heavy...

You are not alone, the whole Ford Mustang design team agrees with you.
I always liked them too.
